Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy covers the Vidlune website (vidluneapp.com), the web version (app.vidluneapp.com) and the iOS / Android app. It is our notice under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

Practising stays on your device
The video you open to practise (slow motion, loop, mirror, frame by frame, drawing, side by side) plays on your phone or in your browser and is not sent to us. Your markers, drawings and language choice are stored only on your device. You don't need an account; we never ask for your name, email or phone number.
What we process, why and for how long
- Clips you choose to save: When you tap "Save as a clip", that video is sent to our server so we can trim, slow down or convert it. The original and the result are deleted automatically within 1 hour. We don't look at your videos or use them for anything else.
- Usage limit (IP address): To apply the daily free limit and prevent abuse we keep a hash derived from your IP address (a pseudonymous counter). The IP address itself is not written down; the counter is deleted 2 days after its last use.
- Usage statistics: To see how many people visit and which features they use, we count page views and some actions (for example opening a video, starting the guide, saving a clip). We use no cookies and store no IP address: each visitor is counted under a pseudonymous code derived from the IP address and browser details that changes every day. We also record the country and approximate city/region of the connection, device type, interface language, the name of the site you came from, the page visited and technical details (file size, clip speed, error type). This data is deleted after 400 days.
- Subscription (app): Purchases go through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never receive your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether Pro is active. For this the app creates a random user ID; we keep a hash of that ID and the subscription status while the subscription lasts and for 1 year afterwards.
- Ads (app): The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier. On iOS you are asked for permission first (App Tracking Transparency); in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland Google's consent form is shown. If you don't consent, you see non-personalised ads. You can change your choice under "Privacy settings" in the app.
- Ads (web): The website and the web version may show ads from Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or similar technology to show and measure ads. Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first; without consent only non-personalised ads are shown. Learn more: How Google uses information in ads.
- Copyright notices: If you send a notice through our form, we keep your name, email, the link and your description for 3 years to handle it and for possible legal proceedings.
- Support emails: If you write to us, we keep your email and message to reply; we can delete them on request.
- Server security: Our server and Cloudflare may keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, time, requested address) to fend off attacks; these roll over within a few days.
We never sell data. We make no automated decisions that affect you.
Legal bases
Processing clips and managing your subscription: performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b), KVKK Art. 5/2-c). Usage limits, security and statistics: our legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f), KVKK Art. 5/2-f). Personalised ads and ad cookies: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), KVKK Art. 5/1), which you can withdraw at any time.
Service providers and transfers abroad
- Contabo GmbH (Germany): server hosting.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA, global network): domain, content delivery and attack protection; it provides us with the country and approximate location.
- Google (Ireland/USA): AdSense, AdMob, Google Play and the fonts on our website (Google Fonts).
- Apple (Ireland/USA): App Store purchases.
- RevenueCat, Inc. (USA): subscription verification.
Some of these providers process data outside Turkey and the EEA (notably in the USA). Transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses and similar safeguards, and for personalised ads on your consent (GDPR Chapter V, KVKK Art. 9).
Your rights
Under the GDPR and KVKK Art. 11 you can ask whether we process your data, get information and a copy, have it corrected, deleted or restricted, object, receive it in a portable format and withdraw consent. Send requests to [email protected]; we reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in Turkey, the Personal Data Protection Board). Because the pseudonymous statistics codes change every day, we cannot link those records to you and therefore cannot look them up individually.
Children
Vidlune is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 16, ask a parent before agreeing to personalised ads.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top and announce important changes on the site or in the app.
